BATH

What can be more relaxing and self-caring than taking a bath after the long working day? A perfect treat for cannabis lovers — cannabis bath products with unique therapeutic properties.

Why use cannabis bath products?

First and the most important reason to take a cannabis-infused bath is to avoid using pain-blocking medication. If you have heel blisters, suffer from a headache or are simply too tensed to go to bed, cannabis bath relaxation is a solution. There is no more need to take pain blocking medicine, sleeping pills or alcohol to reduce stress. Cannabis products combine a safe and natural relief with a nice smell and comfort of use.

Most bath products infused with cannabis include only organic ingredients: essential oils, salts and cannabinoids. The ideal choice is full spectrum products — those, which are created preserving the balance between main compounds of marijuana flower. The harmonized combination of cannabinoids and terpenes within the product is a key to greater therapeutic outcomes.

Popularity of topical cannabis-infused products caused a great market variety in the field. For bath, the most popular are soaking salts, bath bombs, bubble bath, scrubs, shampoo and conditioners, soaps. The principal component is many of them is cannabis oil — source of powerful cannabinoids, which are responsible for painkilling, anti-inflammatory and cleansing effects.

5 facts about bath products with cannabis

What to expect from a cannabis bath? What is the best time of taking it? How is the effect achieved? To get answers to these and other questions, look through the most useful facts about a cannabis-infused bath:

It will not get you high

As well as with other topicals, cannabinoids from bath products just soak into your dermal skin layer but do not enter the bloodstream. In the other works, the effect is only felt near the place where the product was applied. Even if your bath salts contain psychoactive THC, you will not feel high, because it will never reach your brain. This fact is hardly a disadvantage: thousands of people look for effective treatment of their problems having no desire to get their mental state changed.

Most products are CBD-based

There is the reasonable explanation to the fact: CBD provides deep relaxation, which is the main purpose of all bath products. Moreover, CBD is good at interacting with body endocannabinoid system to normalize stress responses and reduce anxiety. THC component is mostly used when there is a necessity to release a deep pain. Some bath products use the ratio of both cannabinoids to gain a maximum advantage.

The effect from the bath is achieved by binding to body receptors.

When applied to skin, cannabinoids bind to subdermal CB2 receptors to regulate human perception of pain, to suppress spasms and bring relief. This principle of operation is more than natural: it is absolutely alike to the way human endocannabinoid system works.

You can stay in a bath as long as you want

There are no time limitations as to the bath taking with cannabis. The main reason is the absence of any side effects of marijuana. Unlike weed smoking or consuming edibles, topical marijuana is considered safe and non-addictive. Therefore, the bath-taking time depends only on your preferences and body condition.

Best time to take cannabis bath is after a hot shower.

It is recommended to take a bath with cannabis only after a hot shower. First, hot water will make pores open and ready to absorb the active components. Secondly, washing sweat, dirt and bacteria away will make the bath more effective.

Benefits of taking cannabis-infused bath

Cannabis bath effects are more than just painkilling and relaxation. They help to hydrate and regenerate your skin, fight inflammation and much more. Check the list of main benefits of using cannabis bath products:

  • Mood boost.

    As endocannabinoid system controls our mood, cannabinoids in your bath products are able to perform the same functions. If you are over-anxious about something or too excited to get to sleep, just take a bath to get a clear mind and a balanced body state.

  • Alleviating muscle tightness.

    People who have muscle spasms frequently seek relief in marijuana smoking, eating or using in topicals. Studies prove that the use of marijuana is able to calm the muscle spasticityby getting in communication with neurons that control the groups of muscles or the muscle groups directly. Using topical bath products on marijuana basis is a safe solution to alleviate muscle spasms and reduce tension.

  • Skin regeneration

    Surprisingly, cannabis is recommended for use as a natural daily care for any type of skin. This recommendation is based on its three health properties:

    • cannabis contains Vitamin E and Vitamin C, which are well-known for their hydrating capacities;

    • CBD has antioxidants that help to regenerate body cells;

    • CBD protects skin from free radicals that cause early aging, so it can be used as the anti-aging tool.

  • Pain and inflammation blocking.

    Cannabis topicals are recognized as an effective pain medicine. They block the pain signals and help to reduce inflammation and improve the work of the natural immune system. What is more, cannabis bath is effective also for blocking menstrual pain by relieving the tightening that is the reason of menstrual cramping and pain.

Cannabis soap: is it truly effective?

One of the most controversial cannabis bath products is a hand soap. Unlike all the other products, it does not interact with the body as a whole but is designed mostly for washing hands. The question is whether a soap infused with cannabis will even make any difference in comparison with the ordinary soap.

Despite numerous advantages of cannabis, it cannot break down dirt on hands in any peculiar way. One will certainly not use soap for pain or inflammation treatment, giving the preference to creams, balms or sprays. So, what is the use of cannabis soap?

There is an opinion that the production of cannabis soap is useful only for its manufacturers that play on the increased interest to cannabis products. Though, there are rare cases where this product can also be useful:

  • For people who are sensitive to synthetic compounds. As cannabis soap is made with organic components, it is a good alternative to mass market products.

  • For damaged and wounded hands. if the skin on your hands is cracked because of cold or wind, or simply damaged, using a cannabis-infused soap is recommended to heal the wounds and protect from bacteria.

Cannabis-infused bath salt: do it yourself

Though cannabis-infused salt is not too costly in comparison with the other marijuana products, many users prefer making it on their own. This way, a user gains a total control over the ingredients and method of production.

If you want to treat yourself with a homemade cannabis-infused salt, prepare half an hour of your time and follow the instructions:

What you need:

  • Epsom salts — 4 cups;

  • cannabis-infused coconut oil — 0.25 cup;

  • an orange;

  • a lemon;

  • essential oils (orange, lemon, bergamot — choose any or some of these) — 20 drops;

  • fine grater;

  • rubber gloves.

Instructions:

  1. Buy or prepare the coconut-infused oil in advance. To make it yourself, combine coconut oil with cannabis in a saucepan and cook on low for 4-5 hours, then let cool and strain the weed with a cheesecloth.

  2. Use a grater to gather zest from lemon and orange. Use only the top layer: they are rich in scent and color.

  3. Combine all the ingredients in a large bowl and mix thoroughly using your hands (do not forget to wear rubber gloves).

  4. Place the salt in a glass container.

  5. Store at a room temperature and use 1 cup for a bath.
